What is Custom Load Development?
Custom Load Development is a meticulous process where we test various combinations of bullets, powders, and loads through your rifle to determine the optimal setup for peak accuracy. After identifying the load your rifle performs best with, we refine it further to achieve the tightest groupings. Using high-quality components, our goal is to consistently achieve sub-1” groups, and in many cases, even tighter, such as half-inch groups.
What’s Included?
- Professional Rifle Inspection: A full evaluation of your firearm, including the trigger, scope, barrel, and stock. Any necessary repairs or suggested upgrades will be discussed.
- Precision Load Testing: We tailor powder and bullet combinations to meet your specific needs, whether for hunting or target shooting.
- Chronographed Data: All loads are measured for speed and consistency, with detailed ballistic data provided to you.
- 100-Yard Sight-In: Your rifle will be sighted in and tested with 5-shot groups at 100 yards. A copy of the final target and group is included for your reference.
- Proof of Performance: After development, your rifle and scope will be zeroed at 100 yards, and the results will be shared with you as proof of the rifle’s optimized performance.
Pricing
- Standard Calibers (up to 6.5 Creedmoor): $699
- Mid-Range Calibers (6.5 PRC to Non-Magnum .30 Cal): $799
- Magnum Calibers: $899
- For an additional $400 we will create a drop chart of to 1,000 yards.
Optional Long-Range Service:
Want your rifle tested and verified at extended ranges? For an additional $200, we will create a custom drop chart and verify your rifle’s performance out to 700 yards.
Important Notes
- Rifle Capability: Some rifles may not achieve sub-1” groups due to inherent limitations. If, after completing the process, we cannot achieve the desired accuracy, we will issue a credit for another rifle. However, refunds are not available due to the significant time and cost of ammunition used during development.
- Distance Testing: Standard load development is conducted at 100 yards. Extended-distance testing is available as an add-on.
